Sarah Hawkins

Hi, my name is Sarah Hawkins. I was born profoundly deaf and communicate in sign language. Performing Art was something that I love to do. I grew up doing mainly ballet along with other dance types and did bit acting in small theaters. I was and still am all about visualization. And I was totally in my element when I dance and act. It was such therapeutic for me to deal with things in my life. The passion for art didnt come in til I became adult. I realized I have the natural gift for it, but havent figure out what type of art that Im really good at until last year. So Im in constant of exploring all kind of art, including photography, painting, drawing, sculpturing, glass, jewelry, etc. I dont believe in limit myself, and just let my imagination take over. Last year, I went through a really difficult time to the point that I need to channel my feelings and energy into something. I just decided to go in the garage and find something to do. I came across an old woodburning kit that was belong to my stepmom. That when it blossomed! It started out to be just a therapy until people saw what I created, they fell in love with it and insisted on buy woodburning pieces. It just make me happy to know that those people truly appreciate my love for art. Then it is when I realized woodburning is my true calling. Also I am a full time mom to a gorgeous 10 years old daughter. She also do dance and some art. I always try to encourage everyone to explore creatively. More Info
