Kayla Lynae Freeman was born on March 20, 1990 with Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congentia (AMC) which didn’t allow her joints and muscles to properly grow and develop while in the womb and therefore, confines her to a wheelchair. She learned to write with her mouth at a very young age since she’s unable to use her hands. While attending Big Sandy Community & Technical College in Prestonsburg, KY, she was asked by Professor Tim Smith to join his Drawing 101 class in 2010. Kayla immediately loved the class and enrolled in Drawing 102 the following semester. In spring of 2011, she graduated with her Associates in Arts and studied a year at Cumberland University in Lebanon, TN. She currently resides in Inez, KY and volunteers at Inez Elementary School where she assists kids with reading and also teaches an art enrichment class. Kayla continues to draw and likes to create new and different things. Hands are one of her favorite things to sketch. She enjoys the details of her drawings, both subtle and strong. Kayla plans to continue to grow as an artist and knows all things can be achieved with time and dedication. More Info
