Heather M. Forster

Heather M. Forster

I am 65 years old. I am single. I have never married. I grew up in Katonah, New York. I earned an associate's degree in English. I moved to Stuart, Florida in 1977. I worked for 24 years doing housecleaning. I worked at Goodwill for 7 years as a clothes processor. I was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia at age of 22. I stayed in treatment and was re-diagnosed with schizoid affected bi-polar in about 1995. In 2013 I was considered bi-polar. I have been sober for 31 years. In 2008 I decided to sculpt a larger than life Emperor Penguin (about 4 1/2') with paper mache' to keep myself occupied so to speak. I had done one other sculpture, and that was when I was a junior in high school and I was very successful in making a table top yellow volkswagon beetle. My art teacher was very impressed. Since 2008 my sculpting has progressed. I am completely self-taught. I in 2013 exhibited in a national exhibition. In 2015 my sculptures were in seven locations. All of those locations except one have closed. The one remaining open I don't care to show in. At the present time a way for me to sell my work hasn't come about. I am totally optimistic about my future. I may not sculpt for a living but KNOW I will enjoy a great life! I am presently!

My Hobbies I love nature. I am fortunate to be close to a lot of great natural habitat. I enjoy walking. I enjoy reading. I have a lot of friends from all around the world on Facebook. I have for about 5 years been studying what is referred to as spirituality or metaphysics. What that is basically is: I have the abilities within me to create a life beyond my wildest dreams. I have already succeeded enough to encourage me to go further. I like to see my life as a journey and I am looking forward to doing the work and giving my dreams time to take shape. It is limitless!

My inspirations My inspirations come from nature and humans. I love animals! I love the human body. I might in the future do abstract sculptures, I don't know. I have just begun sculpting. I started in 2008. There are so many animals and the human body is also so limitless. I don't have just a simple answer for the question. There isn't a particular sculptor from history or present that motivated me to start sculpting. I know of many great sculptors though. My mother desired to be a sculptor and there were many different things in our cellar connected to sculpting, but I only started sculpting because I needed something to do and I couldn't afford even ceramics! I am self-taught, and the way I sculpt is my own technique.

My message for this community Today it is phenomenal the information that is available for those who are challenged, phenomenal! I became challenged when I actually was 15, adolescence. For about 45 years my life's problems got compounded. When I started to discover my abilities within me, I started to come alive again. I encourage everyone who feels challenged to pause and look at what is inside of them. You create from the inside the life you live. You can come to KNOW FREEDOM and that there is NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU, NOTHING, IT'S IMPOSSIBLE FOR THERE TO BE ANYTHING WRONG WITH YOU, IMPOSSIBLE!!!!
