You have spent your life in various countries like Russia, Israel, USA and currently in Mexico. How is your art influenced by the individual countries? Which country/culture has influenced your art the most and why?L: My art was influenced by all countries. I think the most influence I had from the USA. I was traveling a lot there and got to see a many places and then paint them.

What kind of process/technique is involved when your paint? How long does it take you to finish one painting?L: First I make a pencil drawing of the composition on the canvas, like a plan. Then I do a general outline of colors with a large palette knife , then I move to the small knife for making details. A large painting like 54"X40" I take 2-3 days to paint. A 40"X30" I make in 8- 12 hours

Do you think artist’s emotions reflect in his paintings? How do you usually select your painting theme?L: My entire emotional well being is reflected via my art. I select the themes more based on what sells. I'm a commercial artist and I make a living from this, so I have to consider what the public likes more.

What is your favorite painting from your collection and why?L: My favorite painting is Alley by the Lake because it reflects my personality the most.

What is the reason your art is always full of colors? What are the most colors you have used in one paintings? Have you ever tried to paint with a black and white theme?L:  I'm an optimist so I like to paint in bright happy colors. I want people to feel good vibes and energy from looking at my art, maybe little sandness sometimes . I hate black , its a very dirty color so I never use it.

Who is your favorite artist? Which of his/her art do you like the most and why?L:  My favorite artist is Marc Chagall. I like his painting fiddler on the roof, it represents my heritage very well

What are your other hobbies?L: I like reading , going to the beach and traveling looking at archeological sites. I also enjoy carpentry.

Who is your inspiration?L: My family and my cat inspire me the most.

How can art play an important role for our special children?L: Art calms and serves as means of communication for people who have trouble with this

Any special message for our community?L: Never give up on your dreams and listen to your heart.
