Chelsea Werner Interview

“Don't underestimate people with disabilities.” - celebrating the victorious life of an accomplished gymnast with Down Syndrome

Breaking down barriers and successfully facing challenges can only lead to great things in life. Chelsea didn’t start walking until the age of two due to low muscle tone caused by her condition. At age of eight she was introduced to various sports along with gymnastics. Her interest towards gymnastics and her parent’s thoughtful and timely decision to help Chelsea pursue gymnastics by finding an excellent coach helped her excel at gymnastics. With her persistence and dedication she has won four Special Olympics US National Championships and is the two-time defending world champion. Her motivational life story was showcased on the Today Show. She has proudly walked the New York Fashion Week for FTL Moda. With all her accomplishments she wants to promote inclusiveness in the Fashion industry and in today’s society.

The interview with Chelsea Werner was conducted by Uplifting Voices in November 2017. More Info
