Innovative artist with cerebral palsy rejoices his freedom of expression via art
Michael (Stigy) is an abstract artist who realized his passion for art when he attended an art and design course. While painting for first time he realized the power of the unspoken world of expression and freedom. This joyful artistic journey has developed into an online business to sell his beautiful artwork. Michael has smartly adapted to his disability and developed techniques which are helping him with his fantastic creations. His brilliant work is already exhibited in local galleries.
What form of freedoms have you achieved through art? What is your favorite medium?M: I think I have the freedom to express my feelings and the experiences throughout my life. I use acrylic paint on canvas.
What techniques have you adopted for creating your art?M: I attach a paint brush to a head pointer and I bang it angest a plank of wood so the paint splashed onto the canvas.
Who is your favorite artist? Which of his/her art inspires you the most?M: My favorite artist is is Jackson Pollock, thats where my inspiration comes from.
What are your other hobbies?M: My hobbies includes meeting up with friends, playing a sport called Boccia, going to gigs, watching football (I am a Tottenham fan)
What is your favorite place to visit and why?M: I just came back from holiday in Australia and I loved it there, I love Melbourne because its uplifting and fun.
Any special message for our community?M: My message to your community is "if you have an idea to do something to improve your life go for it.
