"Art makes you feel free” - disabled digital artist story
Often creativity is associated with particular side of brain, but for Tommy creativity was fueled by parent’s encouragement towards art. Tommy was born with Bilateral Schizencephaly, which means he was born with a hole in the middle of his brain. Tommy has many challenges. He uses a wheelchair and only had use of one hand. This did not stop his mother and step-father from motivating and helping Tommy to develop his artistic side. From an early age, his step-father taught him how to draw and his mother Jeanne made sure Tommy had all the materials he needed to practice. Today, Tommy has become a confident and talented artist. He loves to draw with vibrant colors and does most of his art on a tablet.
