Can you tell us more about your journey of becoming a model? What do you like about the modelling profession?G: I was bullied in school because of the way I looked and because I happen to have Down Syndrome. My mom and me talked about ways to overcome it and I know that I am beautiful. I have always loved the camera and fashion so I wanted to model to help change the perceptions of how people view individuals with disabilities. I love modeling, its fun and makes me so happy.
What challenges do you face as a model? How was your experience at the “Be Beautiful Be Yourself Fashion Show”?G: Being turned down because I happen to have Down Syndrome. I had an awesome time at Be Beautiful Be Yourself. It was amazing! We raised funds to help with research for Down Syndrome through Global Down Syndrome. Many celebrities came out to support us. Most of all I got to meet Jamie Foxx.
How did bullying affect you? How are you advocating against bullying?G: Bullying made me sad but I did not let that stand in my way. I remembered that I can do all things. I speak at school functions. I just finished a Womans Empowerment for young girls in my hometown Danville. I am a National Down Syndrome advocate with NDSS. I hand out fliers and information on bullying. I just finished my documentary called Being Gigi with Attitude TV New Zealand that talks about my life. I hope to one day walk in the New York Fashion Week that would be a dream come true.
Who is your inspiration?G: My mother is my inspiration. She has taught me to never give up. She beat Pancrestic Cancer and she inspires me to be myself snd I csn do anything.

What advice would you give to kids with down syndrome who are attending school?G: Always remember that you can do and be anything you want. We may do things at a slower rate but we can do it.
