Art therapy has helped Siddharth to face the extreme challenges of Autism. His vibrant and beautiful abstract art has also served as an outlet for his feelings. The canvas for his spectacular paintings usually ranges from 6 to 14 feet wide by 6 to 14 feet high and he typically completes a painting within two and a half hours. Siddharth was overjoyed recently for his first solo exhibit in Brighton, UK. His mother Susmitha supports and encourages Siddharth’s passionate journey of creativity. She also manages his Facebook art page and has answered on his behalf.

How and when did you learn to paint so beautifully?S: Sid never learnt to paint and was never taught.He always loved to scribble with pencil,crayons , pens,doodle on magnetic boards ,colour,draw from when he was little and he started to use paints about 4-5 years ago.Just painting plain sheets of paper and do some painting at an local art club that ran once a month.It was only 2 years ago when he went to projectartworks that his hidden talent blew us all away!He does small canvases with acrylic or posterpaints outside of the artclub .They are usually mostly sids own original abstract art or occasionally drawing inspiration from images he is given to choose from to paint.He is very fast and uses bold colours and works on the spot.None of us know what to expect each time he paints !

Which is your own favorite art creation?S: Im not sure as sid cannot tell me .Sid generally likes to do abstract art with various colours,shapes and patterns .

What are your other hobbies?S: Climbing,swimming,walking,music,watching dvds,cinema,computer,going to musicals,pantomimes,glow-in the dark minigolf,trampolining,bowling,arcade games,theme park thrill rides,cooking,go ape treetop climbing adventure,eating out,Wii games,art,craft,simple puzzles,occasionally gardening / watering plants/ removing weeds,park( swing ,slide,zipwire), etc.,

What is your favorite place to visit? What do you like about that place?S: Theme parks for thrill rides ,caravan holiday .

What do you like to do when you are with your friends/family?S: Sid does not have any friends due to his severe learning difficulty and speech / lang and communication difficulties .He likes to Watch homevideos and youtube videos on cooking/ music/ cbbebies on the computer,watching dvd’s of bollywood music and animated films ,watch videos and play games on the ipad and iphone,annual caravan park holiday with family ( mum,dad,sister)and carers,eating out ,various activities listed in hobbies with mummy and carers.
